Building Your Firm's Dictionary

Last updated: August 6, 2026

Evie's Dictionary feature lets you add specific words and terminology that come up in your client meetings — things like product names or firm-specific terms that Evie might not recognise out of the box. The more terms you add, the more accurately Evie will capture them in transcripts.

Evie already recognises common industry terms or abbreviations like SIPP and ISA without any setup. The Dictionary is there for the terms that are specific to your firm — the ones Evie has no way of knowing unless you tell it.

How to Access the Dictionary

  1. Click the Settings icon in the left-hand navigation

  2. Navigate to Dictionary

  3. Add your firm's terms and save

What to Add

Good use cases for your dictionary include:

  • Adviser and client names that are unusual or easily misspelled

  • Product or platform names (e.g. specific fund names, provider names)

  • Internal terminology or abbreviations your firm uses regularly, including in-house shorthands for a product or process.

  • Regional names and pronunciations, like a local place names or branch names that may get transcribed inconsistently.

Please note: Only Admins have access to this feature.

The Dictionary is a shared setting for your whole firm, not something each adviser configures separately. Once a term is added, it applies across every account, so the whole team benefits from the same corrections rather than each person maintaining their own list.

Only Admins have access to this feature. If you're not an Admin at your firm, you'll need to ask whoever holds that role to make changes on your behalf.

We're looking at expanding this so individual advisers can manage their own dictionary entries too. If you'd find that useful, or have other suggestions for how the feature should work, please email support@advisoryai.com.
