What File Formats Can I Upload?
Last updated: August 3, 2026
What you can upload depends on which tool you're using — Atlas works with documents, while Emma and Evie also accept recordings and audio.
Uploading to Atlas
Atlas accepts PDF, DOCX, TXT, XLS, XLSX, and CSV files. You can upload up to 10 documents per query, with a combined limit of 30 MB, and you don't need to select a client first - attach a file in the chat window and ask your question straight away.
This covers things like LOA packs, fact finds, or any other document you want summarised, compared, or queried.
Uploading to Emma and Evie
Emma and Evie accept a wider range of formats, since they work with recordings as well as documents: DOCX, PDF, TXT, MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, CSV, XLS, and XLSX.
This means you're not limited to meetings recorded through AdvisoryAI. If you already have a recording or transcript from a meeting — from before you started using the platform, or from a call the bot didn't join - you can upload it directly to generate a report. Our agents work from whatever recording or transcript you give them, regardless of where it came from.
⚠ Please note: Password-protected files aren't supported across the platform and will need protection removed before uploading.

A note on unsupported formats
.msg files (Outlook's email export format) aren't currently supported on either Atlas or Emma/Evie. However, we know clients prefer to upload emails directly in this format than copy and paste the content in and we've taken that feedback on board - compatibility for .msg files is currently in development and we're looking to roll this out in due course.
